A New England Mansion Affair
We decided on this location after reviewing our options in the surrounding area and realizing it gave us everything we dreamed of at a very budget friendly price. My family is located near Boston, and Trip's family is located near Syracuse, so Connecticut made a lot of sense. We wanted to be married with a view of the water, but no sand (so thus not a beach). The lighthouse on the property is a total bonus that we never expected! We wanted to have the ceremony and reception in one place, and to have the grounds all to ourselves. We also wanted the right to bring in our own vendors - caterer, bartenders, florist, etc. The venue rental is just that - for the venue, some tables, a few chairs, and that's it. So we'll have to hire all the rest of the vendors, but with lots of family connections in the area, it shouldn't be too difficult!
Mansion
The gorgeous view from the lawn, approximately where we will likely have our ceremony. The cocktail hour will be on the patio area, with a tent for dancing afterwards.
Lighthouse
The view from the lawn, facing east.
That's the lighthouse on the property - very cool!
This is the approximate view we'll have in the background during the ceremony.
